Picture of my helicopter being towed by the tow-chopper. Just happened to be on Lam Son 719. Broke my heart that I couldn't go on any more missions that day. We had a low side governor failure. Engine just died. Thank God we were still on the ground and that was the only thing that died that day related to that. |

This is a picture of the camp dog. I remember that Gary Hienkinen disliked this dog. He said he saw him eating shit once and did not like "shit eating dogs". I only saw it smell shit once. Gary pulled pitch once on the flight line when that dog was around and tried to blow it away with the rotor wash (need a bucket of rotor wash and don't come back until you find it). That dog's ears were flapping and it was holding on to the ground as best as it could. I guess either we left or the dog did. |

Left to right: Major Pope, Battalion Commander, Battalion XO and in back ground Charlie Seawell (Charlie I). I think the USO girls were coming this night because we had a flush toilet as long as we could keep the VN filling it fast enough. Monsoon piss rules in effect for male personal. |

Gary Cancoler. I went through Ft. Wolters with him. He was a Kingsman. Haven't seen him since this picture was taken, maybe mid 1971. |

We captured more than one tree that day, let me tell you. The two crewmembers holding the "Christmas Trees" are Bobby Teeters and Gil Alvarado. |
