The picture of the guys is a field promotion of two of my soldiers from PFC to SPC. It was taken day three of a three day soaking rain. Of course our assembly area turned into a marsh and we couldn’t do any flying either. They were probably ready to kill some rabbits about then! The weather was a downer, but right after the promotion the clouds went away and we were flying the next night. |

The picture of the hook up is us lifting our own ground trucks. That is the second flight platoon leader doing a hook-up on a first flight aircraft.
This was the first time the company did a jump from one field area to another completely by air with nothing moved by ground all self rigged and hooked-up - no external support what-so-ever. Many lessons learned on that move (and ulcers earned!) |

The photo was taken by CW2 Ralph Ferrell. and provided by CW2 John Pruden
The picture shows Pilot CW2 John Pruden (L), Crew Chief SPC Brian Gallagher (C), and PIC CW2 Art Peterson (R) shown in front of an A model UH-60, the "Holey Roller," at Bicycle Lake Airfield, Fort Irwin, CA during a 4/101 Avn desert training exercise at the National Training Center in '92 or '93. I picked up the horns at a gas station in Arizona during the deployment from Ft. Campbell. We didn't fly with them on and I still have them.
