FSB Ripcord, If you don't know, the NVA wanted us off of that mountain really freakin bad. I (Martin DeOrio) took these three pictures while on a PSYOPS MISSION from Division Headquarters G5.
It just happened to be a Comanchero ship that flew me that day, the pilot was Capt. Peter Federovich. In the middle of taking these pictures an F4 almost flew right through our left door; he was going so fast. If I could have reacted in time I could have got a shot of the F4 pilot's eyes. |

Recognize the guard tower on our bunker line? We had to miss this thing when coming back from flareship or Nighthawk missions. |

Gil Jones and Screaming Yellow Zonkers. Provided by R. Wayne Jones
It was my mother that suggested I write to the company. I did and for $1.27 a case the company sent me as many cases as I could afford. I always had one box missing out of each case. No matter how many I had sent to me. I figured that was my duty charge. The box had to be going to Gis so n big deal. I had a letter to the company or from the company with all the info on it to get more Zonkers ordered. I got my DEROS orders and never sent the letter.I think I tried to sell it to the highest bidder, but I don't remember if I did that or not. Being short in April of 71, I really didn't give a rat's ass about much. I also had an attitude about being the shortest guy around and I let everyone know it. I was just wondering if anybody ever sent for the Zonkers after I left.
It's one of those CRS things!
Gil Jones
