Or “The Hideout Yankee
Station” as it is now known
After action Report by Mike Gouch
Wow
what a great weekend!
The weather was perfect, the
woods spectacular and it was a Comanchero happening. Kevin was a outstanding
host as was the entire NE Chapter of the 101st ABN. There were about 100 folks
there presenting WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm and Afghanistan.
It was a special pleasure to spend some time with CW3 Ralph
Ferrell and his lovely wife Stephanie and their two beautiful kids, Ryan and
Megan. He's a current Comanchero just back from Afghanistan and it's good to
hear we still set the standards for excellence with the Division. Stephanie
headed up the effort to get goodies to out guys in the field and did a
wonderful job. When the Comancheros deployed we were a little short on
personnel so our brother Kingsmen filled in the gap. We had Kingsmen stop by
this weekend, Polish last name and I think he had as much fun as anyone and
joined the 101st ABN.
Association on the spot.
The cannons roared, the food flowed and Peach
shine, provided by GL, was the beverage of choice. The only bear seen was a
mangy old bear that looked a lot like Floyd Jones.
Quality porch time was had by the Flying Hawaiian,
Kamakawiwoole, the Crazy Canadian, Don Kennedy and his better half Judy. She's
our official den mother and Madame. Jim Andresen, John Lipski and Linda logged
time as well. John got us rides in the Huey simulators and a very cool tour of
a C5a transport. RB, GL, Floyd and I managed not to fall off the porch once. It
was a wonderful Comanchero weekend.
